If you know me, you know that a rich, full-bodied red is my absolute favorite. I like my wine the way I like my coffee - deep and complex, just like me! BUT there is a time for every wine, and right now that wine is rosé.
What is so special about rosé anyway? It looks like - gasp - white Zinfandel for goodness sake. Oh, lighten up! What makes rosé rosé is simply a little extra mingling of the red grape skins with the juice. Not enough to make a red wine, and too much for a white. It's that simple.
That said, here are five great reasons to enjoy rosé right now:
5. Rosé is just plain fun. Think of strawberries mixed with white wine, but not too sweet.
4. It's usually pretty cheap!
3. It's just plain refreshing on a hot summer day.
2. It's actually food-friendly: Pair it with BBQ, enjoy on the patio, quaff it with veggies. Rosé is just happy to be part of the party!
1. It's refreshing and versatile at the same time: Not too heavy, not too light - Goldilocks would approve.
