Sass Pinot Noir 2008

This is an unfiltered Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley (they call it wil-LAM-et in those parts) of Oregon. Sass Winery focuses on creating handcrafted small-batch wines (stay tuned for an upcoming review of their Pinot Gris).

Color: Pale brick red
Nose: Light earth and mineral with dried roses and plum.
Palate: At once bright and earthy, with soft fruit and complex woodsy undertones. The unfiltered style gives it added richness and character. A medium-dry finish completes this easy drinking wine. Versatile and enjoyable!

Of course, Pinot Noir is a classic choice for Thanksgiving: Try it with your big roasted bird or tofakey.
