"Standing well over 6 feet tall with a big, bushy goatee, shaved head and a barrel- wide chest, Tim Donahue looks more the part of ex-football player than wine connoisseur.


But it's his expertise in wine that captured the attention of winemakers one recent night. Donahue cut his teeth in the industry working for his father, Bill's, winery, Evergreen's Creekside Cellars, before receiving his master's in enology (wine studies) from the University of Adelaide in Australia and moving to Walla Walla, Wash., to become a winemaking instructor.


His resume gives him the clout to chime in: moving Colorado out of The Other 46 (states without national winemaking esteem) and into the ranks of the Big Four — California, Oregon, Washington and New York." READ MORE>
