We're Back! Black Diamond Dry Creek Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

After a long hiatus - one of us was pregnant for a while and had a baby - Denver Wine Press is back in action.

Today's sampling comes from Guadagni Family Wines.

Appearance: Bright ruby
Scent: Heady mix of warm fruit, dried roses and oak. Throw in some spices and a hint of eucalyptus.
Palate: The usual suspects of oak and plum up front, easing into earth and spice with a dry and long, slightly sweet finish. Tannins are light.

This Cabernet is more jammy and less complex than more common expressions of the varietal, but is tasty and very enjoyable all the same. Drink on its own on a cloudy, spring evening.
